Understand the basics of Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe

Start Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe by looking at the playing area and its controls. Win three mini-boards in a row on the large board. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Same-device two players.

Practice beyond the first move

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Keep the objective visible.

The goal to keep in mind

Win three mini-boards in a row on the large board. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Play inside the required mini-board.
  2. Your selected square sends the opponent to the corresponding mini-board.
  3. A closed required board permits play in any open board.
  4. Win local boards, then a large-board line.

Choosing and moving on screen

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Put the rules into context

A top-right cell sends the next player to the top-right mini-board. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Take a moment to compare.

An important reminder

A single local win does not finish the overall game. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
